ISO 27001:2022 Certification

With the ISO 27001:2022 certification, Urmet has established a robust, information-centric protection system based on the best information security practices. This system was also chosen for our customers and stakeholders to ensure they handle their data carefully and diligently.

GDPR Compliant

Urmet is GDPR compliant, meaning it complies with the European Data Protection Regulation and its principles. It also adopts organizational and security procedures to minimize the risk of processing data and verifies that the entire chain of responsible parties is compliant. These principles include transparency in how data is collected and used, limiting data collection to the minimum necessary for the declared purposes, and respecting the rights of data subjects, including the right of access, rectification, and deletion of data.

RED Directive Adjustment

As of August 1, 2025, all Urmet radio devices connected to the internet must meet the new cybersecurity requirements of the RED directive. The RED (Radio Equipment Directive) is a European directive that sets standards for the manufacture of radio equipment.

What does the RED Directive provide for?

• Protection of communication networks; • Safeguarding personal data and privacy; • Protection from fraud.
Ensuring the security of wireless devices in the European market requires adapting to the new requirements of the RED Directive.

Interaction and security

Urmet video solutions comply with the ONVIF standard, of which Urmet is a user member, ensuring high interoperability with third-party systems. The protection techniques on which ONVIF is based, combined with the security measures implemented on Urmet devices, provide a high level of protection against external threats.

Interoperability
They can work with recording systems (NVR/DVR), software, and surveillance devices from different brands as long as they are also ONVIF-compliant;

Standardization
ONVIF establishes common standards for communicating with IP cameras and other devices, improving integration and simplifying installation;

Security and updates
ONVIF Compliant devices adopt secure communication protocols. Urmet ensures the constant maintenance and updating to maintain compatibility and reduce cyber vulnerability risks.

NDAA Compliant

Urmet video surveillance products also meet the requirements of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) in effect in the United States of America.
The National Defense Authorization Act 2019 (NDAA) sponsored by John S. McCain is a U.S. federal law that went into effect on August 13, 2018. Among the law's many provisions, Section 889 defines a prohibition on federal agencies and their contractors from using and procuring certain telecommunications and video surveillance services, equipment, and components made by specific manufacturers. This means that federal agencies may not use cameras manufactured by any of the blacklisted companies.

Cloud-based data management with encryption

Urmet guarantees its customers state-of-the-art technology infrastructure based on partnerships with leading cloud providers, such as Google Cloud. These partnerships allow Urmet to protect sensitive information with maximum reliability. All information stored in the cloud is encrypted, both during transmission and while at rest, using advanced security protocols.

NIS 2 Directive

Urmet is identified as an important stakeholder under the European NIS 2 Directive. In fulfilling this directive, Urmet is recognized for its ongoing commitment to protecting networks and information systems.

Introduced in 2022, NIS 2 (Network and Information Security Directive 2) updates the 2016 NIS Directive in order to respond to evolving cyber threats and set a high, common level of cybersecurity in the EU. The directive expands the involved areas and distinguishes between essential and important actors based on their recognized level of criticality. It introduces stricter obligations regarding risk management, corporate responsibility and reporting requirements.
